I am utterly accepting of every individual and how they show up on any given day.
During our work together they will experience building a positive, nurturing relationship with a trusted adult. Feelings will be validated, experiences shared and understood and trust honoured. They are given the time and space to express themselves without interruption or judgement.
Our sessions can be fun! They are packed full of incredible adventures, stories, destinations and outcomes only limited by our imaginations! There is no learning objective, no end goal, no pressure - this is valuable child-led playtime, something many children do not experience as they get older.
I am not here to change your child but rather to nurture and value them just as they are. I will not be colour-coding emotions into 'red' and 'green', 'good' and 'bad'.
I am here to say "I see you, I get you, it's ok."
Inclusive of all individuals, I will meet your child exactly where they are.
Same place, same time, same day, same face. This is a mantra that underpins my work. School life can be hectic and our lives are busy. I will always do my utmost to provide a consistent, predictable, safe space which is rarer than you might think!
Our consultation is a space for you to share your concerns and aspirations for your child. Being a parent or carer is tough and can be lonely. Being a member of school staff responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of hundreds of pupils can be a highly pressurised place. I am here to provide support for you and the children in your care, signposting to services, new research and resources to support you too.
I am proud to play an active part of the network of over 40,000 Drawing and Talking practitioners nationwide who are working in schools, hospitals, charities and care homes. Together, we provide support for children, adults and the elderly in person and via zoom.
Drawing and Talking is recognised by CAMHS and is also suitable for those on the waiting list for other specialist services.
I am an Advanced practitioner with several years of experience of delivering this effective intervention across a wide variety of school settings. I receive regular training and mentoring as part of my commitment to delivering this work to the highest professional standards.
Once you have been a client of mine, you are in the club! You are welcome to get in touch again with me for further advice and support and Drawing and Talking can be repeated at times when children experience a dip in their emotional wellbeing for example when navigating transition, loss, academic stress or changes in family life.
